Our Story

Larkin Landscape and Design was founded on a simple but powerful observation: too many families are inadvertently excluded from their own outdoor spaces. Uneven ground, steep steps, slippery surfaces, and narrow pathways create barriers that prevent elderly parents, children with mobility challenges, and anyone with temporary injuries from safely enjoying a garden or patio.

As an occupational therapist with years of experience evaluating how environments support (or fail to support) the people who use them, the founder recognized that these barriers were neither inevitable nor necessary. A thoughtfully designed outdoor space—one built on universal design principles—could welcome everyone.

Thus, Larkin Landscape and Design was born: a contracts consulting firm dedicated to transforming residential gardens and outdoor living areas into safe, beautiful, accessible spaces where families of all ages and abilities can gather with confidence.
